Spontaneous Beauty

This is a picture taken at my pool of a group of girls that I've been friends with for awhile. It is a quick, funny picture of my friends and I. I've realized from being a senior that you have to capture little moments like this. Sometimes these moments make the best memories.
Video

Ever since I joined Key Club, I have thought about cancer more and more. We have started Operation Tutu to raise awareness about cancer and also support those with cancer. I have also recently had a couple family members that have been diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is a horrible disease and it takes a huge toll on a person and their family. I came across this video and thought it was so beautiful. It is about a girl, Katie, who has cancer asking her boyfriend, Matt, if he would ever marry her. Matt says yes he will, knowing how sick she is. Katie has to use a oxygen tank to help her breathe. The day before her wedding, Katie became even more sick and had to take Morphin to help relieve her pain. She gets married the next day, but at the reception Katie has to be in her wheelchair. Five days after her wedding, Katie dies. No matter how much pain Katie was in, she had a smile on her face. This video shows no matter what a person is going through, happiness can always be achieved. This is a beautiful and inspiring video.
Piece of Art

I had no idea what piece of art to use, so being the person that I am, I searched for beautiful pieces of art on the Internet. I came across this picture and it caught my eye. It really isn't a picture of something, but more of a bunch of bright colors swirled together. I think this is a beautiful painting in its own way.
Manufactured Beauty

I have an unconditional love for Subway cookies. The perfect cookie is when the cookie is baked just right so that it is soft in the middle and the chocolate is slightly melted. The best part is when you take a bite of the cookie and it melts in your mouth. I'm a critic when it comes to picking out cookies, but nevertheless I consider Subway cookies to be a beautiful thing.

I also consider scarves to be a beautiful article of clothing. I have about 15 scarves, you could say that I have a slight obsession with them. My favorite kind of scarves are the ones that are fluffy, warm, and cozy. They keep your neck warm and are still fashionable at the same time. Scarves are a great piece of clothing.
Artificial Beauty

I am fortunate enough to go to school at Lincoln High School. There have been many updates to the school, but even some of the old parts of the school are beautiful. We have recently gotten a new sign put up at the main entrance of the school. It is such a cool sign and catches the eye of many people. Even the new windows we have are beautiful. They were definitely one of the first things I noticed when they started remodeling the school! I never thought our school would look like this, or that I would get to experience all of the new features of it.

Another building that is beautiful is the church that my grandma goes to. It is called Silver Creek Church. Silver Creek is located about 8 miles past Thief River Falls. It is a very beautiful, small, country church. Silver Creek happens to be very old. My mom went to it when she was growing up. I have always enjoyed going to this church occasionally with my mother because of the people that are apart of it. Silver Creek doesn't have a lot of people that attend the mass, but the people that do attend it, create a beautiful atmosphere.
Something That is NOT Beautiful

This video is about a girl named Amanda Todd. Amanda one day made the choice to send a picture of herself to a guy. She did not know that that picture would come back ruin her life. One year after she sent the picture, a guy messaged her on Facebook and said that if she didn't entertain him, he would send the picture to everyone. He ended up sending the picture to everyone. Amanda became very depressed and started to have a panic attack. She ended up moving to try and start fresh, but the guy did the same exact thing. No matter where she went, he would send the picture to everyone in her new school. Amanda ended up sleeping with a guy who had a girlfriend at her new school. His girlfriend found out and told her to come outside the school. She said, "Look around, nobody here likes you." She then starts punching Amanda. Amanda tried killing herself with bleach. She goes to the hospital and ends up getting flushed. Kids on Facebook said she should go find different bleach that will actually kill her. Amanda is constantly bullied on Facebook and at her school. She turns to cutting herself. She gets a set on pills to take, but one day overdoses. Amanda ends up committing suicide one day. Bullying is a sad and terrible thing. So many kids these days get bullied and think that the only way that things will get better is by committing suicide. Bullying is definitely not a beautiful thing.
Something Beautiful Taken For Granted

Family is something beautiful that is taken for granted. So many kids don't have siblings or parents. Some of their parents might have died, left at a young age, or are even divorced. I am lucky enough to have two brothers and both of my parents. I am also lucky to have a loving grandma who is definitely one of a kind. Family are always there for you and I don't know what I would do if I lost one of them. I have already lost one of my grandpas and I can't imagine how hard it would be to lose a sibling or a parent. Family is something that not only I take for granted, but many others do as well.
Act of Beauty

This was a act of beauty to me because we played with a lot of younger girls at this tourney and we still ended up getting first place. We all depend on one another and cheer each other up when someone is down. This is definitely a hard working and beautiful team.

This is another act of beauty because it is of our team coming together in one of our many huddles before each inning. I have had the opportunity to play with a great group of girls. We may not always get along, but we can always count on each other. We learned to work together better as a team over the last couple of years and I can't wait to spend my last year of high school playing with them.
Something Beautiful I've Done

I'm involved in Key Club and for about the last month I have been making arm band and waist tutus for Operation Tutu. This is something beautiful because I'm helping raise awareness about cancer and supporting all of those who do have cancer.
Music

I have always thought that the song I'm Gonna Love You Through it by Martina Mcbride was a beautiful bride. It is about a mom who was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout her struggle with cancer, her family is there to support her and help her in her times in need. The lyrics in this song are perfect. They show what a person goes through when they find out they have cancer. In this video, it shows some women who were diagnosed with cancer and how their family was their to support them when they thought they couldn't make it through. This song is truly beautiful and one of my favorites.
Natural Beauty

Sunrises are one of the most beautiful, natural things. I love driving in the morning to a beautiful view, especially when there are patches of different colors. Sunrises never get old and the best part is, each day the sunrise will look different. There are simply beautiful.
This is a picture of a tree in my front yard. I love when the leaves change color and there is a beautiful view like this to wake up to. The leaves are the perfect combination of orange and yellow and the sun hits the trees just right. One of the reasons I love living out in the country is that everywhere you look, there are colorful trees like this. It is one of my favorite times of the year.
